Spend the weekend of Valentine’s Day with your partner or spouse enjoying restorative yoga flows, guided meditation, and mindful hiking experiences in the Black Hills National Forest at this Winter Couples Retreat. Join 500 hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher Clarissa and her husband, 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Wade, for a romantic weekend of yoga and adventure at the Hisega Adventure Lodge.
You’ll enjoy a range of delightful experiences, from Vinyasa yoga to freshly roasted coffee, delicious food and comfortable accommodations to hiking in the National Forest and a fire ceremony. This weekend will leave you and your partner feeling reconnected, refreshed, and grateful for one another.
Arrival starts Friday around 2:00pm. Check in and get comfortable in your accommodations. Clarissa and Wade will be available in the common areas if you have any questions or want to introduce yourselves. Reception dinner is at 7:00pm, where you’ll get to know your hosts and the other guests. After dinner, we’ll discuss our plans for the weekend and Clarissa and Wade will help you set your intentions for the weekend.
Saturday you will begin your morning with an energizing Vinyasa class incorporating some partner poses. After this yoga session, we will gather for a group breakfast and fresh roasted coffee. Spend some time with your partner in your room or common areas before Hisega Adventure Lodge staff shuttles us to the trailhead for an optional group mindfulness hike. Don’t worry if you’re not an avid hiker — this hike will be suitable for most fitness and skill levels. During our time on the trail, we will reflect and practice some mindfulness exercises. We will also enjoy our lunch out on the trail as well, if weather allows. After our hike guests can take advantage of the lodge property and soak up some down time. Later in the afternoon we will come together for a restorative yoga class and meditation, and then eat dinner as a group. Weather permitting, we will head to the fire circle after dinner, for a discussion and fire ceremony.
Sunday you will begin the morning with an energizing group yoga class incorporating aspects of the weekend that you can carry forward with you. After yoga you will be treated to breakfast and fresh roasted coffee. We will also enjoy a coffee tasting during breakfast and you can try the different coffees Hisega Adventure Lodge roasts on premises. After the coffee tasting we will come together again for final reflections and closing meditation. Check out is at 12:00pm.

TIPS FOR YOUR EXPERIENCE:
It all starts with attitude. Yogis of all skill levels can enjoy our classes, but that doesn’t mean that there won’t be challenges. Partner poses can feel difficult for those who haven’t done them before. Likewise, guided meditations can sometimes feel uncomfortable — Wade and Clarissa will do their best to help you make the most of these experiences in the most enjoyable way possible. Let us know if you’re new to hiking — our group hike will be appropriate for all skill and fitness levels, and we will ensure that you’re comfortable and safe during our time on the trail. Most importantly, come with an open mind and positive attitude. Some of the weekend’s experiences may be new to you, but don’t let that stop you from making the most out of the weekend!
Our adventures are all based out of the Hisega Adventure Lodge, a 111 year old lodge in the Easternmost section of the Black Hills National Forest, twenty minutes from Rapid City Center. Here you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature — the wind blowing through the Ponderosa pines and the relaxing babble of Rapid Creek as it flows along the property. Our group hikes all take place in the beautiful Black Hills National Forest, on designated trails. We provide transportation to and from all trailheads during your stay.
