Happy 2017! New classes & courses!


Honestly I can hardly believe its 2017!  It seems like just the other day we were heading into 2016!

In the last few months I’ve been busy creating a new career as a Yoga Instructor and Mobility Coach.  I’ve been teaching a ton of classes and taking my Advanced Teacher Training course so I’ll be a 500 hr Teacher at the end of May.  I feel like there are a lot of really amazing things coming up in 2017 and I’m so excited to share them with YOU!


Friday, January 6th – Embrace a New Vision

As we step into a new year what are some things that have been on your goal lists that you just never get around to working on, new hobbies, travel, or changes to your life? In this 2 hour workshop we will seek to tackle some pretty big visions. We will flow and meditate and finally bring our visions into our reality creating Vision Boards that students can take home and hang up to remind themselves of what they are working for and help them manifest those dreams into reality!
SHINE will provide the poster board for your vision, but please bring any magazines or pictures to look through and create your vision board with. Anything that represents your dreams and goals and will adhere to poster board with a stick of glue! This will be a fun night of yoga, mindfulness, and manifestation!!

Sunday, January 8th – Yoga 101: Foundations For Starting Your Own Practice

We will spend 4 weeks diving into what Yoga is, how to get started with the practice of yoga, and all the benefits it will bring into your life. Each week we will focus on a different theme and explore that theme throughout class. There’s so much to learn about the practice of yoga, but in this course you will walk away with the basics and the ability to incorporate yoga into your daily routine or feel comfortable attending group classes.

In November I started teaching a new progressive Mobility Lab course at Plan for Adventure in Moline, IL.

Our specially designed mobility classes which are a combination of flow yoga, gymnastics stretching, foam rolling, and functional movement can help you reclaim your full range of motion and move through your busy life pain free.  Because this is a progressive course we spend time going through proper foam rolling techniques and then adding in functional movement to get you used to using your current full-range of motion.  The last 3 weeks we explore forced stretching and more intense movement and then after 2 months you start the program again.  We recommend you stick with the program for at least 6 months to get the most movement out of it, but ideally you spend an equal amount of time building in mobility work time as you do strength to increase you power, endurance, and flexibility.  

The course is $65 per month or $20 if you are already training with Plan for Adventure.  The course is good for athletes or all ages or anyone looking to improve their performance and overall quality of life!
